I've been wracking my brain for things to make for our booth. Things that don't require a sewing machine, or heavy duty power tools. So I tried my hand at reinventing these little canvas totes I found at Michaels. I printed some images from The Graphics Fairy and ironed them onto the totes.
Now this is my first go round with iron ons. I ruined the first two when I realized I forgot to reverse the image. NOT a smooth move considering how expensive these things are. The actual iron on process was a bit tricky too. How much pressure to apply, how long to apply it, when exactly to peel the paper back. It was some serious iron on drama around here.
I finally got it together enough to come up with 3 reasonably decent looking tote bags. I added some trim to the top and tied a bit of scrap lace to each handle. It was a fun project once I got going. I plan to make some more but want to see if these sell first.
If not I may just have to make some for myself. One for each day of the week!

Hi Sares, wow! are those nice bags or what...I love the first one, so pretty. I wish I were half as talented as you are, you always seem to know what fits with what...I hope your having a nice week! :O)
Beautiful job on the bags! I've been wanting try some image transfers but have avoided the iron on paper because it's so expensive. Have you heard about the citra-solv method? The Graphics Fairy has a tutorial on her blog. Once I get my hands on a bottle of citra-solv I am going to try it! I know your bags will sell...they are lovely and you've appealed to your target market for sure ;)
Best Wishes and Blessings,
Amanda
They turned out really great! I'm sure they will sell because you price everything so cheap! ;-) I don't think I can mess with iron-ons, LOL! How do you print them out on a printer (what kind of paper do you use?) Technology is pretty amazing!
~XOXO~

Sares, I thought you were a WW pro. Probably is due to the fact that you are kind of a faithful commentator in my blog and I only do 2 parties, WW and PS. The bags are awesome. I do want to try the iron ons but I don't know if I can get my money back on those. Let us know how it goes. You are very creative and have started in this business young so the sky is the limit as to how far can you go with it. Are you passionate about it or is this a tax write off? If you love it at some point it will support you. Take care and stop by soon, blessings, Marta.
they are fabulous!!!

I love these bags. I think that you are going to do great with them! I have a booth too, I might have to try them out. I've never used an iron-on. I would be nervous that I would mess it up. lol You never know til you try though. I am so happy that you stopped by and left me those sweet comments. It made my day! I havent been by your blog in so long because my computer would not open up your site. I'm glad they have it fixed now.
