Before and After

Here's my latest furniture makeover. A Goodwill piece I thought had some possibilities.

After I removed the hardware and sanded all over, I went in with the paint. I skipped the primer this time since I was using such a dark color and sanded off most of the old stain. I had no issues getting the paint to stick.

After

I bought these green boxes to place in the spot where the center drawer was. It wasn't really a drawer, it had hinges you pulled down to reveal this little cubby. I decided to leave the drawer front off to give it a more modern take. You could place baskets in here too.

All in all I thought it turned out pretty cute. She went in the Jazz booth on Saturday, so hopefully she'll find a new home soon. It's a good thing she moved to the booth, there's already a dresser I bought this weekend to makeover sitting in her place. Space is limited around these parts!

I hope you all have a super sunshiny week!

Fab piece. If it were mine, I'd change out the hardware with some brushed nickle knobs or handles . . . .I saw a similar one at a yard sale . . .

It's perfect... You are amazing!!!
Question...Do you paint or spray paint? It seems whenever I use a brush mine gets streaky brush marks. Probably just me. Anyway, I would buy it for sure;)

Wow. Sares, you are getting to good at this in so little time. Have you bought a sprayer yet? I tell you, you will never regret it. Imagine painting a whole bedroom set in a matter of hours. I see a lot of success coming your way. I noticed too your blog have a new look. It's so elegant, something a higher end designer will do. You are catching fast kid, and it is all good. Blessings, Marta.

Hi Sares!!!

First of all, I hope that this comment finds you doing well. It has been forever and a day since I have blogged regularly or even visited my sweet friends! Just know that you cross my mind from time to time and and I miss our regular visits. Sounds like you've been keeping busy too!

Second, I love what you did with the furniture piece...the black is wonderful! I bet someone snatches that up in a jiffy!

Hope that that weather hasn't been too bad in your neck of the woods...I don't think you are quite as used to those extreme temps and dry weather as we midwesterners are!

Take care of yourself,
val

Oh, I remember I had a study desk exactly like this one, when I was in school! :)

My mother had the desk made for me, my mother was always having custom-made furniture, custom-made just for me! :) Made me feel like a princess! :) Reminds me of the time she had an entire bedroom set of new furniture made for me! It was all blue-painted narra wood with huge pink lotus flowers carved into it! :) Everybody always envied all of my custom-made furniture! :)

I like the darker color with it, Sareski! And the green boxes make the new darker color go "pop" :)
