Peek A Boo Tuesdays

It's Tuesday, which means it's time to join my Mom at
A Cowgirl's Grace
for Peek A Boo Tuesdays.

For my peek today, I'm going to show you what can instantly transport
ME through the doorway back to childhood...

A SWING

Once you're on a swing ,

your legs pumping back and forth,

flying up to the sky,

a feeling of freedom

of lightness

of endless possibilities

not a care in the world.

A time machine back to childhood.

That's the magic of a SWING.

I still get flip-slops in my belly when I go on a swing, LOL! Now I get the joy of teaching children how to pump their legs. It's funny, watching them learn. They just have to figure it out, it's not just in the legs, it's using your whole body to pull you forward!

I was fortunate to get to swing with 3 grandaughters recently in WA. DC! What great fun it was to be at the park with them. I too can get the butterfly feeling in my stomach but it does seem to lesson after awhile.

No matter how old you get...you are never too old to swing.
It's like flying high and then swooping back down to earth...
Ahhhhh...such joy!

Gosh it's been a long time since I've been on a swing. Sure brings back memories.
As a kid I would swing in our backyard for hours at a time, just singing and letting my hair blow in the wind.
Wish I had one in my backyard. Even a porch swing would be nice.

Thanks for the memories.

If no-one is around and all the street lights are broken I love to swing! My granddaughters can all recite "How do you like to go up in a swing..." because I've said it to them so many times when I push them! Thanks for a smile this morning.

Swinging...my favorite childhood thing to do.

My daughter, Adrienne, was a swing-lover, too. She use to sit and swing for hours in the backyard. We once had a little Sheltie Dog named Haleigh (love the spelling!)and she was Adrienne's pride and joy! Her middle name was Louya (she named her at 7 years old). Anyway, Adrie would sit on her swing and sing at the top of her lungs "HaleighLouya! HaleighLouya! HaleighLouya! I LOVE YOU!"

Our neighbors thought for years we were all NUTS!

Sweet post!

Love, Rebecca

When I take the kids to the park or playground, I really am taking them so I can go on the swings! The swings are my favorite.

When I was just a little girl my parents used to take us to a local school to go SVINGING.....yes, that's meant to be a V....why my dad always said it that way is beyond me......we'd stop and get an ice cream and head on over to the school. To this day it makes me smile to think of those simple times.

Warm hugs,
Spencer

Oh Sares Sweetie...
What a beautiful post. I so loved my swing. I think when we were kids we spent many a days on our swingset. We didn't have the games and toys that kids have today. We used our imaginations on the swingset. Many a problems were solved, and many a places were visited. Swings could take us anywhere, and ofcourse we were going to swing so high we could touch the sky. Thank you Sares for the beautiful memory today. I so love it when you share.

Country hugs and so much love, Sherry

Swinging in the rain, just swinging in the rain...with you. Playtime would be so fun with Sares and Jacqueline. We could even sing...Say, Say, oh playmate, come out and play with me, and bring your dollies three, climb up my apple tree...smiling and toasting our friendship on this Wed. morning as the sun comes up!

Love the photo, Sares! Now to answer your question. Unfortunately, I get no help in dusting. I do everything by myself inside the house although we have 2 part time gardeners who help us outside....Christine

Don't know how I missed this one Sares. I don't think you are ever too old to sit on a swing ... even if it's just the type that sits on the front porch or out on the terrace. When we bought out new outdoor setting, we saw a matching swing seat and I couldn't resist it ... I spend hours on it on Sundays.
Warmest hugs,
