Pink Saturday

Pink Saturday is here AGAIN! My hat is off once again to our hostess,
Beverly from How Sweet The Sound. She has each and every pink link
on her post if you want to see more of this delicious color!

So.. while perusing the local antique shops before Christmas, I came upon
this beauty. A full size "vintage" pink cotton nubby bead spread. It also has
silver threads running throughout it. I was instantly smitten but having
been near to or over my Christmas budget, I didn't want to fork out
the $12. I know crazy right?

However this story does have a happy ending! I went back last week at
praise be, it was still there! I could be that I did a good job of burying it
under the other blankets, but let's not mention that, I don't want to
appear sneaky. Needless to say I was very excited and paid the full $12
for it. My only problem now? I've been thinking of using it to make
some craft projects, perhaps Christmas stockings? Are you all horrified?
It won't fit on my bed and it does have a few thin spots if it makes you feel
any better about me chopping it up. Lastly, do any of you have any other
ideas for it's use? I KNOW you super smart talented and creative ladies will
have tons of ideas for me!

Happy Pink Saturday to you all and have a loveleigh weekend!

$12????
Girl, it's a good thing that I wasn't shopping with you because I would have snatched that so fast while you were being such a cheap skate! haha
Seriously girl, that's a good deal. You won't regret it. I just love it.
I say chop it up and make lots of goodies with it. Maybe a fluffy pillow, a scarf, and yes...a Christmas stocking for sure!!!!
Whatever you do...you better show us! I can't wait~

You know you got a real deal on that, now don't you? I'd say you are looking at $45 or more in an antique/flea shop.
Go ahead and get lots of mileage out of it. Tons of pillows, maybe cover a little stool or bench and yes christmas stockings.

Have fun.

Happy Pink Saturday.

I love that you hid it! I do that all the time! ;)
It's a good deal for $12, and I agree, if it's not in perfect condition, why not turn it into something else? Stockings would be cool! Or small pillow cases, or pillows, or a cute stuffed bunny wabbit for a baby? Can't wait to see what you do!!

Yes...I have an idea...If you look back on Auntie Jacquelines post she made a vest out of hers! Cute as a button with jeans and tenny runners!
My Dearest Queen in Training...You have done so well on this journey. Don't forget to come to the WINTER BALL tonight and the slumber party with all your friends. Winner in the morning! Free rides on WONDERFUL tonight. Crossing my heart, you will be the winner. Good luck!

Sweetie I would have knocked you down I would have been running so fast. 12.00 - oh my gosh what a steal. The color is exquisite. I would make some beautiful pillows out of it.

I made snowmen, pumpkins, hearts and some stockings out of the bedspread I found. I still have Moma watching for anymore, any color to come in. The one I found was white, and I tea stained it. Loved the look. Gosh you could cover just about anything with this one Sares.

Keep us posted. We will be waiting to see what you do. You are so creative I know it will be special.

Country hugs sweetie and so much love...Shery

HAPPY PINK SATURDAY SARES,

I THINK IT WOULD BE DARLING TO COVER THE SEAT OF A CHAIR AND THEN PUT THE FRINGE AROUND THE EDGE OF CHAIR...I CAN JUST SEE A SHABBY CHIC CHAIR PAINTED CHIPPY WHITE AND THE SEAT OF THE CHAIR COVERED...YOU COULD COVER A LITTLE FOOT STOOL...SOME LITTLE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT HEARTS...THAT WOULD BE VERY SWEET....THE POSSIBLITIES ARE ENDLESS.
SO SORRY I HAVE NOT BEEN BY AS MUCH AS I WOULD LIKE
THANKS FOR HELPING MARTHA---SHE DOES SO MUCH FOR OTHER PEOPLE AND YOU KNOW...IF SHE HAD NOT POSTED ABOUT YOU, WE WOULD NOT KNOW ABOUT ALL THE THINGS YOU DO...YOU ARE SPECIAL SARES AND DON'T FORGET IT

Hi Sares,

What a sweet pink bedspread, and such a great price.
I think little soft toys or bathrobe for a little girl, pillows, and yes, Christmas stockings would be great.
I look forward to seeing what you make with it.

Happy weekend

You lucky girl! It was meant for you to have it! You sounded like me when you said that you stuck it on the bottom of the pile! Some people don't like to 'dig' like we do! That's the most fun and you never know what you will find! That was a great bargain too! It would be so sweet if you could cover a little chair for your niece. I saw a 'small' recliner in a magazine one time that was covered in chenille. I've also seen shower curtains made out of them. What ever you do, I know it will be beautiful.

Hugs,

LOL good job of keeping it "hidden in plain sight" so you could go back and get it. The wait makes even more special. I am with Jodie, use it for crafts and of course share what you do. Happy PS!

Pink Saturday is such a fun time of the week for me in the wintertime. Michigan winters are not only cold, they are very gray and today is no exception to the rule.

Thank you so much for sharing your blog this Pink Saturday and for making my day brighter and pinker and more fun!☺

I ADORE your new blog header and envy you that spread☺

♥Wishing you sunshine surrounded by those you love today, tomorrow and always♥

Ummmmm,Ohhh how I love that spread,I love vintage chenille..and this is a beauty. I'm not sure if I could cut into it or not..,if I did,it would be to make Christmas stockings, perhaps a pouffy pincushion, maybe some sweet stuffed animals...perhaps a beautiful pillow, and the list goes on. I have a book of patterns for the most adorable little animals made from chenille. Thus far,I've not been able to cut into any of mine to make said animals, but they're just adorable in the pictures.
Happy Pinks and have a wonderful week.

Oh yes! My idea is something I am going to do a post out of in the near future...I'm just looking for the right purchase first. You could make a purse or purses (for gifts) out of it. They'd make cute vintage, whimsical type handbags. Now I can't wait to get my post up...
