You Furniture Painting Queens Broke Me...

I DID it.
I bit the bullet and ordered some CHALK PAINT.
After suffering minor sticker shock, the excitement kicked in.
I can NOT WAIT until it gets here!
It has to be delivered since I don't live near the stockist, hence the shipping and
handling charge was part of the sticker shock.
Nonetheless, it should be here by the weekend.
I don't think I have ever been so excited to see the UPS truck.

So you know what I'll be doing this weekend.
Cracking those cans and gettin' busy!
I found a couple pieces last weekend just screaming for some Annie Sloan Chalkpaint.

The prep work is in progress, I just need to finish fixing that wee little whole on the desk you see in the back, it has one coat of wood filler in this shot. Once it dries I need to prime over it.  I have read you don't need to prime or sand before you use this paint but the top of this desk is actually a laminate and I wanted to make sure the paint had something to stick to. I'll let you know how it goes. It could be a disaster. But I'm sure I'll have fun trying!

I haven't ordered any yet because it is so expensive but really want to ~

Me too! Want to buy some but I can't justify spending all that money . . . if I had a shop, yep, I'd buy some in a heartbeat!

Can't wait to see your transformations!

Sares, HELLO. It has been a long time. Let us know what you think about the chalk paint. There is a lot of hoopla around it. My friend order can after can and keep telling me I should buy the stuff for the store. Like Marsha I just can't afford to do that for my resale pieces...unless my friend stuff turns out unbelievable great, then I might bit the bullet on paint for more awesome and expensive pieces. Not a believer just yet. I hope somebody comes with a cheaper version of it. Behr have a new paint that is primer and paint in one. I'm going to try that one. Again let us know your opinion. Blessings, Marta.

Hi Sares,
I've been debating whether to try it or not. It's so expensive and painting for resale might now be feasible or profitable. But, I'm dying to try it.
Can't wait to see what you think of it.

I just read a blog that said it paints over laminent with no prep. I would love to use it, but just can't since I paint for resale and it would seriously cut into my profits.

Waiting in anticipation of good treasures to come. You might have to sell the piece for a pretty penny in order to regain your time and paint cost! However, Queens never give up and are open to trying new things. Proud of you for giving it a whirl!
