I've been hitting the local thrift shops pretty hard lately, hoping to find some furniture. No luck there. Frankly everything else is pretty skimpy too. I can't believe how bare the shelves are. People must be saving there junk for garage sales. I did find a few things.
Like this vintage thermos set for the booth. Inside the bag is also a plastic container which is either to put the thermos in, because it fits perfectly, or to put your lunch in so the thermos doesn't smash it. Maybe someone out there can help me shed some light on the subject. Either way it's a cute little set and I always love that plaid.
For myself I found a copy of the book Heidi, a pretty glass "vase" I plan to use for pens or flowers and these cookie cutters. I almost did a little jig when I saw the crown!
Now for the linens. The top right hand corner is an eyelet bed-skirt for ME. In the center is a set of 4 beautiful linen napkins with beautiful edging, also for ME.~ Probably.~ Finally, at the bottom is a large lace tablecloth, for the booth. Poor Jazz, there I go keeping half the good stuff for me! Actually I rarely do that. Most of what I buy goes to Jazz and the stuff I keep has no or little profit margin so it really doesn't matter.
So, as you can see, it's been slim pickins' around here. We are supposed to get some beautiful weather this weekend and I want to go to some garage sales and see if I have better luck. I need to stock up before Summer rolls around and it's coming around fast! I hope you're all having a super fantabulous week!
Glad you could bring home a few goodies, love the crown cookie cutter and the lovely linen.
Heidi was always one of my favourite books.
Sares I was just down in Centralia this last weekend and I had zero luck...which is strange because I usually score a treasure or two there. That visiting nurses place had nada and neither did the Goodwill. You done GOOD girl!! Love that thermos set! And I do believe the hard tray is for your sammy and stuff *winks* Whatcha be wanting for it? The hubbs loves those too! Vanna
you really found some treasures there....
I love all your treasures! And the little crown is right up my alley!
I know what you mean. The thrifts have less stuff and what they do have is pricey! What are we junkers to do! LOL!
I'm trying to stock up my booth too and it's wearing me out!!
Good luck with your hunting. I love what you've found so far.
Holly and I have been thrifting this week in New Orleans....I found several things that would have been perfect for your booth! Things I would have put in one if I had one! haha We did purchase some awesome finds....maybe I'll share later on my blog! It's such fun fun...the thermos set is so cool and in great condition!
Wow...maybe there was no furniture but you found some beautys! I LOVE the crown cookie cutter...oh my gosh...and the glass jar, Heidi...which I remember my dad reading to me. You just sent me down memory lane:)
Have I ever told you how much I love your post? You ask questions and leave imagination in the mind of the one who is reading.
This post made my heart dream of picnics by a river, lunch under a weeping willow and then come home and put my hat on and go thrifting. I would ride by your house on my bike and ring my bell and we could go thrift hunting all day. You'd be lookin for frills and I for fantasy...Were a good pair because you wouldn't snatch my goodies nor I would snatch your frills.
Those are some great finds! Hope the weather holds up this weekend so you can go garage sale hopping. ) Theresa
I guess you will have to go to garage sales to find more stuff!!! Love the crown cookie cutter, never seen one like that!!! The lines are so pretty!!!! You done good!!!! :)
Oh my goodness Sareski!!!!! You're keepin' all the good stuff!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA How do you expect your business to keep on if you keep all the good stuff for yourself!!!!????? HAHAHAHAHAHA you crack me up!!!!!
I really like the bag, actually! Also the crown and the other little thing beside it! I also like the Heidi book (I thought it was someone's diary at first) and I like the linens too (all of which you are keeping for yourself, allow me to point out :p)
