Happy Pink Saturday! This weeks Pink Christmas challenge is to
share a favorite Christmas decoration. I chose this sweet Christmas
Angel ornament I've had since I was little.
That almost makes her an antique,
at the moment I think she's just considered vintage!
She's worn her tiny eyes off gazing at all the Christmas spectacles
over the years, I suppose some day I should give her a new set of
peepers for a Christmas gift. She has always been one of my favorites,
I should treat her with more respect and dignity she just whispered
to me.
Do any of you ladies have any creative ideas other than whipping
out the old sharpie? She also whispered she wanted something
more fancy than two black dots!
Never fear if I'm a bit late visiting some of you tomorrow. We
have a family Christmas Party planned and I don't know how
late I'll be. It's hard work this party planning!
Thank you to Beverly for once again pulling together Pink Saturday for us.

Sares...I think your little beauty once had white eyes trimmed with thin black with dark pupils. I'm going to show a few vintage figurines this weekend that look similar. I'll take a closeup so you can see what I'm talking about.
Wish I was around to buy that $12 cloth...I'm near faint hearing about it.
Love to you sweet friend~
Rebecca
This little angel is precious and I love it that she talks to you! Sweet! As for the eyes....?????
Love the pink goodness here.
Have fun with the Chistmas doings tomorrow, we will be doing the same!
Hi, Sares,
I think your angel is as sweet as can be. What a wonderful heirloom to be treasured for years to come! I love her just the way she is, too. Have a beautiful weekend, sweet friend. Vicki p.s. Have fun at your holiday party!!
Hi Sares,
I love your little angel how sweet.
Could you paint the eyes on with some oil paints and a very fine brush.
Have fun at your Christmas Party.
Hugs
Carolyn
She is adorable! I will have to come and visit her!
She looks sooooo sweet, Have a fun weekend!
Hi Sares...
Happy Pink Saturday sweetie. I love your little angel. She sure does deserve to see what is going on around her. I would have just searched for beautiful painted eyes on the internet. When you find a pair you like, print them. Then you could use some tracing paper to get them on the angel like you want and then fill them in. I always try to get a paper copy though to trace.
Have a beautiful Pink Saturday. Please pop over and say hi. I love it when you do. Country hugs...Sherry
Hi Sares,
I simply adore your beautiful little angel. Some of my fav holiday decorations belonged to my grandma and it is always a special time for me when I pull them out each year.
Wishing you a blessed holiday season.
Debby
Hi Sares...she is a beauty..no sharpie..we must come up with something more deserving!
Hope you have a lovely party!! happy pinks & Merry Christmas..xo Tami
Hello, Sares! Your sweet angel is so lovely. I have no suggestions on the eyes as I feel that is something I wouldn't have the skill for. Good luck! Happy Pink Saturday!
xo

Oh such a soft picture. I love how you do-softness, here. :-)
And since she is quite old, perhaps it would be better to just leave her as she is? Imagine whatever eyes you wish. But don't try to paint on new ones... Maybe...?
I kind of see her with her eyes painted shut, like she's sleeping or dreaming. Were her original eyes open or shut? A little paint and a small tool- maybe even an opened paperclip- to do the detail work. I have acyclics so let me know I can loan you some over the holiday or you can buy small bottles at Michael's. They even have a small section for making dolls, so they might have paint pens or something, too! She's really special. Have fun at your family holiday bash!
Isn't she just the cutest!! This time of year I rummage the thrift stores looking for vintage pieces to bring home and love. I'm not an artist and so would know nothing about how to fix her eyes, but Rebecca's post is right on - I've seen them many time. Have a wonderful holiday season, Merry Christmas, and Happy Pink Saturday!
What a sweet angel she is, Sares. I would leave her just as she is!
But if you really want her to have some peepers, use acrylics to paint her eyes with a 20 liner and round brush and then seal them.
Have fun at the party!
Happy Pink Saturday!
Hugs,
Marsha
Sares, she is so sweet! I love her!
I have no suggestions for her eyes because I am SO not crafty! You would hate to see what I might do to her sweet little face. You could go and look at other vintage dolls and see what their eyes look like and try to copy from there. You will need something tinier than a sharpie, though, unless they make a fine point. She's a cutie for sure...
Happy Pink Saturday!
XO,
Sheila :-)
That is the most precious little ornament!! She's been well loved and it looks like she's seen it all - ha ha. Have fun at your party ~ ♥
Sares, what a little darling your angel is! You must really have some wonderful Christmas stuff about to wear her eyes out! LOL!
It's not that hard to use some acrylic paint and a liner brush to paint some precious eyes on her. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, you could send her to me and I'd be happy to do it for you. I think she needs to see again! LOL!
Thanks so much for sharing today. I hope your family party was fun and that they didn't exhaust you too much!
Happy Pink Saturday!
Blessings,
Teresa
Your angel is so sweet! How about 2 little rinstones for her eyes? maybe in blue or brown or green? Pink Blessings!
Gwen
We don't need elaborate decorations or a big tree or numerous gifts under a tree. All any of us needs is to carry the spirit of Christmas in our hearts and to share it all year long with everyone we meet.
I love your angel just the way she is and wouldn't touch her at all. She can see with the beauty in her ♥ - she wouldn't be the same with new eyes.
Thank you so much for sharing your blog with me today. Yes, I'm crazy about ♥PINK♥ but I'm also devoted to visiting some of the nicest blogs in cyberspace.
Hoping your weekend is filled with peace.
Hi Sares,
How sweet your little angel is! She's been loved a lot, I'm thinking. Happy Pink Saturday and hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Christmas blessings,
Sandi
My oh my...where are my eyes? Just don't put the googly bug eyed ones on...paint them pretty, a little soft blue eye in the corner and she will sparkle and thank you. What a treasure for Sares to still have this little vintage sweetheart.
My apologies...I've been away from reading blogs...work I'm stunned got the best of me...bah humbug...not a fun week but Saturday night bloggin' fun is here! Love the runway eye candy...ooo...la...la...I'd love to be able to squeeze a knee into one of those!
Darling little figurine ... the tales she can tell! She's just resting her eyes ... Hugs, TTFN ~ Marydon
Sares...she is so precious and adorable.
Oh...I wish that I could hold up something as precious and as adorable as that and be able to say "I have had this since I was little."
Oh no...I'm feeling the tears coming...oh darn it! It's all this holiday fuzzy wuzzy that's getting to me...ok I'm gonna cry now...
...we moved around so much when I was little, I was never sure where home really was, anymore! I couldn't hold onto anything for too long! I envy you and your Christmas angel...this is something that you have been able to hold onto, for your whole life, and still take out and look and and touch right now...
I am so happy for you. You must love her much.
I am wishing you all the glorious magic of the Holidays, and all the warmth of Christmas! All the magic and enough to last you well into next year and beyond! :)
lovingly,
Charity
So pretty! Happy pink Saturday!!
I love your little angel! I agree this one needs soft precious eyes. I really love your site, header and the pictures that have sifting snow! Beautiful!
Looks like you really have a knack for hunting down the good bargains, I need to thrift shop with you!
Maybe your NANA could embroider some peepers for her???
