A Jazzy Christmas!

Jazz is all decked out for the holidays! We had a slight hitch in our giddy~up. Or should I say a major hitch. Due to unseemly weather, you know, the freezing snowing icy icky messiness we had last week? Yep, THAT nastiness put a crimp in our plans. Travel plans had to make some adjustments due to the road conditions and by the time Cousin M got here we only had a little over an hour to work on things. I know. How in the cotton pickin' world are you supposed to completely transform your booth in an hour. You don't.

Since the following day was Thanksgiving and the shop was closed, it was left to me and me ALONE to get the job done on Friday. Everyone else had prior commitments. The down side~it was slightly lonely without anyone to work with. The upside~I got to do whatever I wanted!

We love this little white shabby table that sits atop the bigger table. It works great for display purposes. Yesterday I got the dreaded, yet highly anticipated call~the little white shabby table has sold.

And your stuff is all over the place and needs fixed.

Man that's a call I love and hate at the same time.

Especially when you've just spent hours designing a vignette around it.

Now if the BIG table under all this stuff sells, we're in BIG trouble.

We may have to display stuff on the floor.

That could be attractive.

There's me. Where oh where are you Cousin M?  Mom?  Auntie?  Nana...Anyone?

Just kidding! My Mom actually took this picture on Sunday. She and I worked in the shop for a few hours to help get a commission discount. Every bit helps and it's fun for a few hours to play shopkeeper.

The only downside to running the shop? During the downtime you have time to shop in the other booths. Now strictly speaking, I actually only took one thing from our own booth so it doesn't really count. However dear old  Mom spent a good chunk of change. She's dangerous that way. She's also Cousin M's best repeat customer.

Most of this spectacular merchandise will still be there on Saturday. We're having a Christmas Open House/Sale on December 4th from 3-7. Everything in Painted Lady Vintage will be on sale, from 10% off all the way up to 50%. I do hope some of you can make it, we would love to meet you and have you join us!

Thanksgiving has come and gone. The turkey is all gone and the cranberries too. The food was delicious and seeing the family was wonderful. I nixed the Christmas tree lighting because it was SO cold. We did do the midnight madness sales and it WAS madness. I bought a few things but I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon. I prefer to be home in bed at 1 o'clock in the morning. Call me crazy. Or lazy. Or old!

I am now off to visit you all and see what you've been up to. I'm afraid I've been a lazy blogger this last week and took some time off so I'm excited to get all caught up, I'll be by soon!

Happy Thanksgiving!

The plan in my neck of the woods is for some yummy vittles,a little card play and possibly a tree lighting in the evening. If I get REALLY ambitious, my Mom and I might do a little midnight madness shopping. We've never done this before and thought we'd give it a try. However I am not placing any bets on whether or not it happens. It could go either way. We tend to like our sleep.

Friday I'm off bright and early to pull together our Jazz space. Today we only had time to drop stuff off and leave it a mess before the shop closed. And I do mean a mess. A disaster. Hopefully I can get things put to rights. I've been working up a storm making things for Christmas. If you'd like a peek, click the "All That Jazz Vintage" button on my sidebar to see some of the things we'll be putting out for the season. We got a bit of a late start, the inspiration bug was slow in coming our way but we finally made it and I can't wait to finally get everything set up.

Have a blessed and beautiful Thanksgiving Day and I am VERY thankful for you!

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink Saturday everyone! I haven't posted since last Saturday, I've been busy working on Christmas projects for All That Jazz. It took me a while to get in the mood and find my inner inspiration. Too bad it didn't hit until a week before I need to haul it all to the store and I have a little Man Cub constantly dogging my heels wanting to get into my business!

Here's what I worked on this morning. These mini Frostys and Frostinas.

I bought the snowman heads at a local store that went out of business.

The stands are terracotta flower pots I painted white.

Scraps of lace and ribbon complete their winter finery.

I thought they turned out pretty cute!

Tomorrow I'm hitting a flea market with my sister and then it's back to more projects for me. Thank you Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for hosting again! I hope you all have a spectacular weekend!

Aren't these GORGEOUS! Talk about fantasy worthy.
Unless you just plan to run the vacuum while wearing one of these perfect pink concoctions.
Yep, we'd all look mighty good washing the dishes and doing the laundry in one of these!

Happy Pink Saturday to everyone and thank you to Beverly from How Sweet The Sound
for hosting the pink party once again. She always has all the pink links.
Have yourselves a pinkalicious weekend!

Christmas Anyone?

Has anybody else pulled out the Christmas movies and music yet? I must admit I watched one of my favorites a couple of weeks ago, A Christmas Story.

I haven't pulled the music out yet, but I'm thinking REALLY soon!  My cousin and I were just discussing this a couple of days ago. We were working in the Jazz booth (click here for the latest post) and she was saying how she almost listened to some Christmas tunes in the car on the way down but refrained. I don't know why. I say pull it out, even if it's the middle of June!

Yep, all I need now is a little snow to really get me in the mood. 40 degrees and rain is no fun. Bring on the snow or bring back the sun. Seriously, it's so gloomy around these parts.

Pink Saturday

Happy Pink November! Thank you to Beverly of How Sweet The Sound for hosting again. I am surprised she's still willing to put up with us pink addicts still! Be sure to visit here for all the pink links, just in case you're new to the game.

Time to pull the boots from the back of the closet.
The rains are moving in.
The long dreary winter months are ahead.
Gray skies and gloomy days.
Thank goodness for a little pink each week to keep the spirits up!

Happy Pink Saturday and have a marvelous weekend!
