Sidewalk Sale and Car Show

There was an old "Car Show" in town last weekend so we decided to have a sidewalk sale to coincide with it. I am afraid it was a bit of a bust, not much sold. You don't know if you don't try. Evidently "Car People" are more interested in looking at cars than shopping. Go figure. Maybe if we had some car parts for sale, LOL!

The cars were lots of fun to look at though. There were some GORGEOUS ones on display.

My favorite picture from the day!

One of my favorite cars. How COOL would it be to cruise around in this one!

This was my other favorite. Pure class all the way. Who WOULDN'T want to roll around in a Rolls!

If you got tired, you could pull up a seat here.

Or here.

They were definitely worth seeing. I can see how people can get addicted to collecting old cars. It's sort of like junking on a much grander scale! Those who love the vintage, love the vintage. Be it linens, furniture,
cars of just plain "junk". Sometimes things from the past are just worth holding on to and cherishing.

Oh Sares Sweetie...
I will talk those comfy chairs over a stupid car show anyday. Us ladies would be at your sale while the guys went car shopping. I am not much of a cars gal, but as heck loved the beautiful blue head board. The number 2 pillow was pretty darn pretty too.

You have done such a beautiful job putting all the pictures together today sweet friend. Just beautiful.

As always sweetie, I am sending many hugs and much love to you. Love Always, Sherry

The cars are cool. But your sidewalk sale looked fab. So sorry it didn't do well - I much prefer little treasures over looking at cars! Theresa

Ohhhh, I'd take that Tbird in red please!! When I worked for the county as a courtroom clerk one of the judges had a red one just like the black one!

Hi Sares,

Sorry that your sale did not do well, after all I suppose that there would be a lot of men and some are not really shoppers.
Loved seeing all the beautiful lineup of cars,... yes, the roller would be nice to be chauffeured around in.
Hope that you are having a lovely week.
Hugs
Carolyn

Hi Sares, I can see why they bought nothing. They came to just LOOK at the old cars, knowing they could not afford any of them, and they left their money at home. But their loss cause you had some great stuff. Hugs, Mollye

Well your pictures are just delicious! If I was at that car show I would have FLIPPED to find all the vintage goods you had for sale! But you're right, those folks are probably there for one reason! The car shots you shared are gorgeous. Those old car shows are a lot of fun to go to.

I love the photo of the crochet doilies that are (or were turned into) pillows... very pretty!

Have a great day.

Wow, love those old cars! Those were cool! Looks like perfect weather for a car show. Sorry the sidewalk sale was a bust, it was worth a try! The pics you took of the merch looked cool, though! :)

Hi my friend...
Good to see that street again! Yes, I have found when there is an event in town sales are not always that great because they have one thing on their mind and that's what draws them to the area.

Yes, I still have my booth, going strong. We sold that red/white vintage table and 46 other items. Not too bad for a good start. I keep my prices really low. Len put in a huge amount of Starwars stuff from this collection and boy toys so it has both in it. Mission is to make money so it attracts both male and female and kid buyers (just like me).

I opened Jackie of all Trades on Sept. 1st. The other job just sucked..the old grannies (small amount from the east coast...)did not like me. It was hurtful but NEXT as my mom would say. I'm still baffled by the whole ordeal.

Just started doing homeshows for the party plan At Home America. I love the company. Go on line if you have time and take a peek!

Gosh, your items in your booth are amazing! Just what women want!

The best of September to you and yours.

Hi, Sares,
I certainly see some things from your sidewalk sale that I would be interested in. I enjoyed seeing those vintage cars, too. I have always said if I were independently wealthy I would own one of the vintage beauties. The cars were magnificent!!! Happy September, dear friend~love always~Vicki
