Weekend Garage Sale Finds

I hit the garage/rummage sale circuit this weekend and found myself
some treasures. Now the original intention was to look for things for our
booth. It didn't QUITE work out that way. I bought all the goodies for
myself! In my defense, these are actually the first purchases I have made
for myself since we started the business, this is NOT the case for my Auntie
and my Mom! So I have to catch up right!

A silver candleholder lamp. Price tag $1.

Silver creamer and sugar set for $2. Picture frame, which will be given
the whitewash treatment real soon, 50 cents.

Vintage can, $1. I am addicted to these lately. This will probably make it's
way to the booth in the Fall. For now I'll use it for storage.

Tablecloth from the Goodwill. Oh yeah, I made a stop there too! Did any
of you get your 20% off Goodwill coupon in the mail? Or is it just a local
thing? After the discount it was only $3.50 and is in excellent condition. I
also bought a piece of furniture for the booth which I'll share in a later post.

Also not pictured, a boom boom (super soaker) the Man Cub picked out.
I am sure you will get the pleasure of seeing that particular apparatus
sometime this Summer. When it warms up enough to use it. So far it's
only made an appearance in the bathtub. But trust me when I tell you
it's real pretty, LOL!!!

My FAVORITE find. A really really old dish. What was it used for ladies?
Gravy, soup, casserole? I have no idea, but don't care, I LOVE it. I
splurged and spent $5. Did I overpay? The mark on the bottom is
Johnson Bros. England. I guess if you really love something

it's worth what you will spend.

Beautiful cracks.

Stunning age spots.

I sound like I'm describing an old lady!

Total expenditure $12.

Next post I'll show you what I actually DID get for the
booth. I didn't totally abandon it!

Lovely finds! I believe it's a soup tureen. I imagine it has an old mark,as Johnson Bros has been around a long long time.
If you want to soften the age spots, use Oxi-Clean and warm water. I've soaked items for one to several days. The stuff is amazing. But you may already know this.
Glad you're keeping some finds. It took me years to finally do that, but I am now. Enjoy!

I'm with you; absolutely LOVE the white dish. I would say it looks like a soup taureen(?). Whatever it is, I love it! You always find the most amazing stuff! How many hours do you spend rummaging to find such great items?? Or are you just really lucky??

Sares ~ What lovely treasures ... I love the ones that show a wee bit of age. That lamp is gorgeous, are you going to paint it?

I just got done painting 3 lovely wire plant stands for the upper terrace, from green to white ... love it.

Have a beau-TEA-ful week, sweet friend.

Wow Sares, you really did find some great bargains. And I love the footed dish - I'd guess serving a hearty stew/soup.

and the time reminded me immediately of Christmas:)

Have a great rest of the week!

Oh what fun, it is to run...to the Goodwill store today! I'm right behind you so don't buy everything...HEY...
Guess what I just learned? Goodwill will take Value Village and Salvation Army coupons! They don't advertise it but they take them!

I think you know that I have a glass showcase at a local antique mall...I'm growing and spreading my wings...July 1st I'm setting a booth up in Edmonds at the Aurora Antique Mall...So excited!!!

Love you Sares...sorry for my lack of commenting...It's been a few weeks of rotten eggs but I'm back to HAPPY!!!
