Can You Help Me Ladies?

Okay ladies, I have a question for you. I bought this picture to go in
All That Jazz and I have NO idea what it's worth. Etched in the back of
the frame it says "Hand Crafted 24 Carat Gold Plate". It looks like it could
be the original frame to the photo, which judging by the dresses is
somewhere between 1900-1915. But that's just a guess. The frame size
is about the size of a 5 by 7. So does anyone
have a guess for me.
Are people even buying this sort of thing? I thought
it was pretty neat,
but then I got it for a good price too.

Added to All That Jazz last weekend is this cute little shelf I painted.
It started out an ugly brown. I ALWAYS forget to take the before shot!
Anyway, this little sweetie was sold 4 days later. Everything we put in the
store this color sells VERY quickly. It seems to be really popular.

Needless to say we had to rework the space again. We bought
some new things and headed over to re~vamp. It took a while
but we finally got it. Once again I forgot the camera. I am
hoping to take pictures tomorrow so I can show you.

The center seems to be the lucky spot. Everything big we place
there seems to sell, then the whole thing has to be reworked,
which isn't easy because we seem to have a lot of "stuff" right now.
Hopefully the little vignette we did yesterday will stay put long
enough for me to get my pictures because it's off to the side,
not in the middle! If not that's alright too!

Hey girl, nope, I can't help you with the frame. it's worth a million dollars in yumminess. The blue paint, I love that color. Can you share? I am thinking sunroom walls. If you don't mind sharing email me the info on the paint. It sounds like the business is doing really well. Be aware, that is how it all starts. I used to think that a door size space for 28$ was a big risk and as big as it was going to get. You can really make a living doing this, if you are willing to work your butt off. I was working my butt off for other people, not any more. If you love what you do you will never work another day in your life. I believe that. Happy creating, blessings, Marta.

Marta is so right. I went from one tiny space to two, to three large spaces, to my own antiques store, which I had for just over 7 years. I retired!
The frame is lovely, is it wood or metal, what part is gold plated? It does look old. People love old frames!
I love looking at all your new found goodies. (We never really really retire!)
Cheers, Laura

I dunno either but maybe the question would be what would you pay for it? The picture itself is wonderful. Me, personally, I don't purchase old frames in stores b/c the markup is too high for me. I look for ones at flea markets and/or garage sales.

That's great that your business is doing so well! Congratulations!!! I would love to have a booth again . . . maybe someday.

Have a great weekend!

Hi, Sares,
I think anything vintage is selling very well right now. I think your frame and picture will sell right away. I wouldn't be able to help you on the price though. The shelf is such a pretty shade of blue, and yes, that color is very popular right now. Your shop is looking wonderful, and I love the red, whites, and blues for July 4th. Have a lovely weekend, love and blessings~ Vicki

Hi Sares,

So glad to hear that your shop is going well.
As for the price of the frame, I do not know, all I know is that a lot of people would be really interested, I am sure.
Love the colour blue of the cabinet and all the wares.

Happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn

Hmmmm...Without getting my hands on the frame it's hard to know if it's worth much. Old photo's are way cool...but I think they sell under $10 by themselves. Your buyer will likely be one that loves the charm of the photo and frame and it would be an "extra" vs. "a need" so I'd price it lower. My general rule is to take the cost I paid for the item and see if it will sell for x4. If not, I don't buy it to resell. In the Victorian area and prior the frames were often made from wood.

I love old pictures Sares. I think this one is a sweet one too!
That blue is very hot right now, and when my daughter had her shop it went very well as well. And yes, all the items in the middle seem to sell well. It think it's because they can be seen at all angles. I always lie to pull pieces out and have a good look at them before I buy. I'm so happy for you that htings are going so well in your space.

Hi Sares

Sorry I can't help you with the cost for the lovely photo. I just know that I buy what I like and if it seems reasonable to me.

Love the aqua shelves and the vintage pillows.

Happy Monday!

Sares, those clothes in the photo might even pre-date the 1920's. Not sure about the frame, though. Don't go to the bank on this, but I might have guessed it was newer than the picture. I'd need to see the back and actually see it in person.

I have a lot of old family photos, so I'm not in the market to buy any. However, I would check around on eBay and at other antique shops and see. You don't want to undersell, but you don't want to oversell either if it means people won't buy.

I love your header with that bike... so cute! It reminds me of a friend's bike I photographed some time ago. And I love that color of the bookcase. Is that a custom color? I've been looking for a good color to paint a little chest in our getaway, and that is very cute.

Good look with your booth. You have some cool things in there, Sares!

XO,

Sheila :-)
