Giveaways and Awards

There are lots of presents floating around Bloggerville these days! There

are an enormous amount of giveaways of all shapes and sizes, including
one of my own. I have quite a few listed on my right hand sidebar, if
you have fun doing this sort of thing, click on the links and be sure to sign
up for some goodies!

Best Blogger Award

I have also received a few gifts in the form of awards.
My first award came from
Isabel at The Thriller Is Gone.
She's a new blogger who has a love of all things Michael Jackson, as you may be able to tell by the creative name of her blog!

I'm going to pass this award along to another young blogger, my
niece at Lauren's Creature Chronicles. Her blog is private so I won't add the link, but she's been a bit of a naughty blogger anyway and hasn't posted in a forever and a coon's age! Thank you Isabel!

Gorgeous Blogger Award

My next award I got two times over!

Teresa from Marigold Manor was the first to give me this "Gorgeous"award.
Then Gracie from A Touch Of Grace passed it along to me too. Such sweet
ladies! Be sure to visit them and see what they have to share on their
fabulous blogs!

This award comes with some rules, I have to tell you 6 things you don't know about me. I struggled with this, I'm pretty boring! But here goes...

1. I am a General Hospital fan. I've been watching it for the last 18 years. I
used to be addicted to Days of Our Lives in High School, but they began a
whole possessed by the devil story line which TOTALLY turned me off and
I jumped ship and began watching GH. I know the soaps can be ridiculous,
but they can be fun too.

2. I have a scar across the bridge of my nose I got as a child. We were
playing a game with a shop broom, swinging it around and when it came to
you, you were to duck. I didn't duck fast enough. I got whacked in the nose
and took a trip to the Doctor. Smart kids weren't we. The things we'll do for
entertainment when we're young!

3. I LOVE old books. I don't have to be interested in the content to
appreciate them. I have books I haven't even read. I love them for their
"looks" their beautiful bindings and colors and covers!

4. I don't drink alcohol, ever. I can't stand the taste. People that do
drink don't understand that even the weakest drink or wine still has
that alcohol taste-yech! There is one exception to the rule, Kahlua.
This stuff I like but hardly ever drink it.

5. I spent my early childhood in Forks, Washington. The land of the
Twilight Books, lumber mills, trees, and yes, lots of rain.

6. I love Christmas music. I can listen to it all year round, and sometimes
do. It's just such HAPPY music! At least now I can start listening again
without people thinking I'm weird!

Now to pass this award along to 6 other bloggers.

1. Isabel from The Thriller Is Gone

2. CowgirlJLynn from A Cowgirl's Grace

3. Dusty Devoe from A Copper Pony's Cowgirl

4. The Desert Rose from jessesdesertrose

5. PaintGirl from The Painted Creek

6. Bronco Betsey from She Who Rides Many ponies!

Feel free to pass if you don't wish to accept, no worries. To those who do,

Have fun!

Congrats on the awards! I always love reading the "what you don't know about me"

So, you're a GH fan. I USED to watch it a long, long time ago, when Luke, you know, what he did to Laura . . . but I couldn't keep up with all three, AMC, OLTL & GH, so AMC has been the only one I've kept up with all these years from day ONE!

Hugs,
Marsha

Hi Sares!
Is Hollie Foo Foo an American Eskimo or a Pom?
I spent my childhood watching General Hospital with my dad, sick on the couch. Then, you may have read on my blog...we watched Dark Shadows without my mom knowing...one of those naughty white lies. I don't drink much of anything either....but I do like Kahlua and cream just like you! I have been to Forks many times too, when we have gone camping over at Kalaloch. Hope I'm spelling right tonight...all tired out, terrible wind storm outside!

Cute answers to the questions, Sares! I love the story about GH, it cracks me up. I was a Y&R and Days fan, then GH, then Y&R in college, then GH again in my mid-twenties....now it's mostly Y&R if I'm home on a vacation (I did use to tape it every day, LOL! It was too hard to catch up, though.) I love Xmas music too, and I'm excited to pull out some of my CD's! I heard some in Target the other day and got so excited!

Congrats on your awards!! You deserve each and everyone of them!!
Thank you so much for passing one on to me! I feel like I have been a terrible blogger as of late, I haven't had time to post much nor stop by for visiting!! I guess that is what work does to one! Especially when working 50+ hours a week, I am too exhausted!

Congrats, Sares!! You deserve those awards, that's for sure. I think that "Name" party on the 19th sounds like fun - and very original!! Yay. Have a great weekend ~ ♥ P.S. It's funny because I used to watch Days when I was younger then quit for quite a few years and have been hooked again the past few years. I think the years I missed were the years when there was all the possessed stuff going on - that's too beyond weird - glad I missed it! I used to watch G.H. too when Jack Wagner used to be on there - oooh dreamy! ha ha Later tater ~

A nice list of interesting facts about you....I too remember the devil stuff from DOL's...turned me off too. So I only watched The Young and The Restless after that...now I don't watch any!
I'm the same why as you about the books and Christmas music..LOL
It's good knowing you!
