I Get Around

"Man Cub's Ride"

The Man Cub's line up of his "wheels", how he gets around town.

The convertible, fold up stroller option for shopping trips with the Nanette, the Auntie, and the Mama. This ride works well for a time but distractions must be brought along, snacks, binkies, toys, etc.

The deluxe stroller with all the options and gadgets. A sunshade, cup-holder, anti-lock brakes, and pouch holder in the back for all the little extras that come with carting around a man cub. This ride is used for larger trips abroad(zoos, parks, etc.). This is also the ride the Auntie uses on an almost daily basis for walks and trips to pick up the pirate princess from the bus. We like this ride for it's smoothness on the pavement and easy pushing capabilities.

Now here we have the "starter pony". The man cub can't get very far and fast on this lil' guy but he gets to practice his "walk trot" and his "posting" for a later date when he can actually ride a real pony.

Here we have the man cub "Quad". He puts the petal to the plastic on this one and really blows it out the park. The red button on the handle bar makes it easy for a pint-sized man cub to get on the go!

Now this little baby can do zero to 40 in nothing flat. The only trouble is, it's strictly a push as you go speed racer. The man cub looooves this green beast though. Maybe because his Daddy and Grandpa have a fondness for big bikes and his Daddy has a car almost exactly this shade of green!

Only fourteen years or so and the kid will be wanting an upgrade. A four wheel option with a real gas pedal, steering wheel, and set of keys, then he can really "get around".
Until then he'll have to make do with what he already has at his disposal, which is quite a lot for someone that is only 2!!!

The Blahs

This guy just says it all. I've come down with the flu that's been floating around here for a week. I think my symptoms match Dad's. I had a sore throat, body aches, and chills. I took some aspirin and the aches and chills have gone, but a low fever has taken it's place. Believe it of not though, I feel much better than I did this morning. Thank goodness it's only comes for a short visit.
I should be back to myself tomorrow. Until then I hope you are all healthy and happy and well!!!

A Little Piece of China

Anyone in the mood for a little bit of Chinese? Everyone in the homestead was hankering for some grub but nobody was wanting to make the vittles. What does one do when found in this precarious situation? Order takeout that's what. Fresh from our own little piece of China down the road, it's good, it's fast, and it's cheap!!!

Desert is also included with a loveleigh little piece of wisdom thrown in for free.
"Don't be afraid of fear", truthfully it's pretty good advice, I've read worse things on a cookie!
I think alot of us could learn to be fearless in certain parts of our lives. I know I could. The trouble is actually doing it!!! Have a good night. Think happy thoughts and have sweet dreams, ZZZZZZZZ

A Foggy Day In The Neighborhood

This friday morning in the valley is starting off with a wee bit of fogginess. A grey mist in the morning usually means there is some sunshine on the way.

Why is it the fog usually more prevalent in the fall and early spring? An autumn fog is my favorite, with the smell of woodsmoke in the air. But, I will definitely take a fog that holds the promise of spring in the air.

I have to say I love weather. Each season has it's own special things about it, but I think most people that live in the northwest have the biggest yearning for SPRING

Even if spring isn't your favorite season(mine is fall), there is something you can't help loving about the freshness and newness of all that spring holds for us, especially after a wet and dreary northwest winter.

So I'll leave you with this picture of the sun trying to make it's debut for the day, although it may be a bit chilly, around here we make no complaints and soak up all the sunshine's rays we can get. Tomorrow the rain could be back and that old yearning for spring will be back, stronger than ever!!!

Shine on sun, shine on!!!

"Somewhere In Time"

"Come back to me!"

I spent Saturday night watching one of my favorite love stories, Somewhere in Time.
This film has all the great elements of a great love story. It's about a playwright that uses self-hypnosis to travel back in time to find an actress that hands him a watch and says, "Come back to me".

If you haven't seen this movie you should watch it. I think you'll love it too. Then you will get the significance of the penny.

Gimme Some Sugar

Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, Yummy in my tummy!
I just had to make these sweet treats for Valentine's Day with the help of the Pink Pirate Princess. We make these special cookies every year for Christmas,Valentines, Easter, and Fall. It's become quite the tradition. Thanks to Aunt Lisa for sharing this delicious recipe with us years ago.

This Valentine above says inside:
A valentine from little me
I send to little you,
I hope you'll think it's pretty
It means I love you .
Can you tell which of the above cookies were made by the Pink Pirate Princess, and which ones were made by Auntie?

The above Valentine was given to my Great Grandma MBG, by a student when she taught school, before she was married.

Ah, the assembly line is complete. The treats are done, ready to be eaten. And they will be. To those of you that live just down the lane, I'll bring you some tomorrow!!!

Dusty's Sweet Lovin'

I made a new friend today. He's big, he's brown, and he's sweet as can be! For some reason he was a wantin to nuzzle on lil' ole Sares. I don't know why, I wasn't wearing perfume. I hope I didn't smell like a lady horse! His Mommy says he likes all the young fillies in the family. I guess I'm not that special, but his kisses were, they were loveleigh. Thanks for sharing him Auntie!

Miss Foo Foo the Pomeranian Girl

Every good "Diva Dog" deserves her day in the sun. A nice toasty tan and a glamorous pair of sunglasses are really all a stylish pom pom like my Foo Foo needed on this day while she was coerced into this photo shoot. No ladies and gentlemen, she was not too thrilled about where these photos were taken but she really had no choice unless she wanted to do the doggie paddle.

I believe I got two shots off and she was done. That was all I needed. This is my favorite picture I've ever taken of her. She was about two years old here, she's now twelve. And still kickin', much to Dad's dismay.

Foo Foo was, is and always will be a yappie little thing, but I have never before loved a pet as much as I love my Foo Foo girl. I don't think I ever will. She's just lucky the nieces and nephews came along or we'd still be dressing her in baby/doll clothes and making her pose! Yes folks we did that and I have pictures I'll show you some other time. Oh, what she would have to say about that if she could speak!

Isn't it funny how much love and joy an animal can bring to those willing to accept it, no matter if it's a cat, a rat, a horse, or a yappie little fur ball. But I do gotta draw a line at snakes. That just plain gives me the creeps. To each his own I guess. What loveleigh animal(s) have you bonded with the most in YOUR lifetime?

A Pony Platter

I forgot to show you all the hand-painted pony plate I bought for my Mom. Pony girl especially wanted to see a picture. So here they are. Cute huh? I am wondering if the top and bottom horsies are painted by the same person because the top one looks a little more skilled than the bottom one. But we won't tell the bottom pony that, it might hurt his feelings. We don't want to give him a complex. He's a loveleigh lil' pony. Below is the plate as it sits on the bookcase, knowing Mom it will get moved around at a later date when she finds the time.
Goodnight Ya'll

A Little Thrift Store Shopping

I went for a little shopping trip today with my Auntie who lives down the lane. We decided you can't feel too guilty for spending money when you do your shopping at the local goodwill!I bought myself four pretty pink vases. I'm sorta in a bit of the shabby chic mode in my bedroom right now and I needed something to go on my bookcase. I've always love rose patterns on old dishes. On plates, vases, teacups, saucers, pitchers-they all seem to catch my eye. This first vase is my favorite because of the pattern, although I think the pattern is actually peonies, one of my favorite flowers.

I think this tulip vase and the pink one with the gold are the oldest because they have that cracked finish old dishes get. All four of these cost me a mere $10. When I decide I don't want them anymore I can sell them in a garage sale (I love doing those) and recoup my money! So I really didn't spend anything right? Auntie was a good girl she didn't spend as much as me. Did I forget to mention I also got a mirror, a wall hook, a shirt, and a decorative plate handpainted with horses? Oops! But I was a generous shopper, the plate was for Mom and I got the Pirate Princess a doll sized barbie head who's hair she can brush for 99 cents.

It was a fun mini shopping trip. No jobs to rush off to, no horses to tend to, no babies to push around while they scream. Aah how loveleigh.

A Yummy Treat

Pirate Princess and I made these brownies tonight that I got from a fellow blogette at Daisy Cottage. They are delicious. P. Princess loves to bake from scratch. Her favorite part is licking the spoon and bowl when finished. If you want to try these loveleigh ooey, gooey, very very rich yummy brownies, the recipe is as follows:

1 brownie mix
10 graham whole graham crackers, broken into pieces
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 cup chocolate chips

Mix brownies as box indicates
Bake 350' for 18 min. in a lightly greased 9x13 pan
Take out and add graham crackers, pressing down gently
Sprinkle chocolate chips and marshmallows evenly over top
Bake 12 min. more

I also put the brownies under the broiler briefly when they were done to make the
marshmallows toasty and brown.

Enjoy and forget about your waistline for a day!
